About

Spotlight.is started from my need to express my music using the web, and for posts to end with just one link that leads to checking out more, or to buy/download it. I'm inspired by the book "Don't Make me Think" and I believe Spotlight.is achieves this by having all options immediately next to the parts that make a post (there is no left or right panel full of options). It was made to create in flow, which leads to higher fidelity of expression.

Behind the scenes of Spotlight.is: CSS. You can do so much with it. If you don't know what CSS is, don't worry you only need to know what it looks like, so that you can paste it into the Inspector which you have in your browser. If you dont what to see the Inspector because it looks complex, Spotlight.is got you! You don't need to open it to make great looking posts. Things like mix blend mode, size of font, colors, are selectable from the native Spotlight.is options when you click on an element. Even to check if it looks good on various devices, just squeeze in the browser if on Firefox or Chrome to get an idea for devices sizes, and then reposition layers as needed.

As a creative it's so hard to be understood on social media. We all know the realities of the stream and content which took days, when posted is gone in a blink of a flick. An attempt to solve this started years back with Compmix. But there were too many APIs to manage, and lots of other issues. Those Compmix posts I made were rough, but they had a special texture because well, the elements are rendered live to give a presentation in line with the web. Spotlight.is the refactoring and clean slate reformatting of it, as well as ironing out animations, more customizations, rolling backgrounds, and nooks and crannies to make posts just feel right.

So, I can't imagine not using Spotlight.is as a quick companion posts for my thing - to use spotlight.is to tell a story behind something, or as a press release, on and on. Now ideas, dreams, and things wished to be conveyed are no longer limited to just text. Finally, something is here that allows me to fully express things online.
